Bulk Mulch
Bulk Mulch Delivered Straight From the Mill — No Fillers, No Fuel Surcharges, Two-Day Delivery Across PA, OH & NY
Why the Mulch You Buy Matters More Than You Think
Bulk mulch quality varies significantly. Inconsistent material, premature breakdown, and contamination with low-grade wood byproducts are common issues when sourcing is not tightly controlled. Who you buy from has a direct impact on what you get.
Briggs is a family-owned company based in Bear Lake, Pennsylvania, with more than 50 years of freight and logistics experience. We expanded into bulk mulch delivery with a key advantage: direct access to the mills where the material is produced, including one owned by our family.
That access means we can verify the product at the source. Our mulch is made from 100% natural hardwood, properly processed and conditioned, with no filler or wood waste mixed in.
We supply landscapers, landscape retailers, municipalities, retirement communities, property managers, and homeowners across northwestern Pennsylvania, western New York, and northeastern Ohio, with consistent pricing throughout the season.
The Briggs Difference
Here is what sets us apart, and why our customers come back season after season.
No Fillers. Not Ever
Some mulch suppliers blend in wood scraps, pallet material, or low-grade construction waste and call it mulch. We don’t. Our product is pure hardwood; the same clean, consistent material in every load. What you ordered is what arrives. And when you order from us again, the product will be consistent from order to order.
Ground at a Family-Owned Mill
We don’t buy through a middleman and hope for the best. Our mulch comes from mills we have long-standing relationships with, including one owned by family. That means we control quality at the source, not at the end of the supply chain.
Stockpiled and Conditioned the Right Way
We stockpile our mulch and let it age before it goes out on a truck. Some people call this ‘cooking it.’ The process reduces weed seeds, stabilizes the material, and produces a more consistent color and texture than fresh-ground mulch that goes straight from the grinder to your yard. It takes more time on our end but it performs better on yours.
All-Natural Hardwood Nutrients
Pricing That Doesn't Move
Every spring, we give you a price. That price holds for the entire season. Fuel costs go up, markets shift but that’s not your problem. We don’t add fuel surcharges, and we don’t adjust mid-summer because our costs change. The number we quote you in March is the same number on your invoice in September.
Fast, Reliable Delivery
Natural Mulch and Colored Mulch. You have options
Natural Hardwood Mulch
Our natural mulch is exactly what the name says: all-natural hardwood material, no dyes, no additives, no fillers. It has a clean, earthy appearance and breaks down over time to add organic matter back into the soil. This is the practical choice for most landscaping applications; beds, walkways, around trees, and anywhere you want a clean, finished look without anything synthetic.
Colored Mulch
Colored mulch is natural wood material treated with colorfast dye, typically available in brown, black, and red tones. It holds its color longer than natural mulch and gives a more uniform, finished appearance. The dyes used in quality colored mulch are non-toxic and safe for plants and soil. It’s a popular choice for commercial properties, retail landscaping, and residential curb appeal projects where consistent appearance matters.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of using hardwood mulch?
How much mulch do I need to cover my landscaping beds?
Is bulk mulch better than bagged mulch?
How deep should mulch be applied around trees and garden beds?
What does it mean when mulch is described as having no fillers?
How long does bulk mulch last before it needs to be refreshed?

What should I look for when choosing a bulk mulch supplier?
The most important factors are sourcing transparency, product consistency, and delivery reliability. A supplier who can tell you where the mulch comes from and how it’s processed is a supplier who stands behind the product. Look for all-natural material with no fillers, mulch that has been properly stockpiled and conditioned, and a delivery track record you can verify. Pricing stability matters too: suppliers who quote one price and bill another mid-season create real problems for landscapers and property managers trying to manage project budgets.
How is bulk mulch delivered and what should I expect on delivery day?
Bulk mulch is delivered by truck and unloaded at your specified location. Before your delivery, make sure the drop area is accessible for a delivery truck and that you’ve confirmed the quantity and type with your supplier. At Briggs, most orders arrive within two business days of confirmation. Because we are a freight company by background, our drivers are held to the same safety and professionalism standards we apply across our entire operation. What arrives will match what you ordered. Consistent material, correct quantity, no surprises!
